After a successful career in sales and marketing, Megan now devotes her attention to a lifelong passion for cooking and her natural flair for entertaining, turning her love of cooking and entertaining into a thriving business.
With sound culinary knowledge, years of experience in the food industry and an eye for décor and detail, she founded Gecko Events, a spin-off from Gecko Culinary Adventures a small business founded over 20 years ago which she took over and reinvent the business by keeping up with trends and offering much more than just a cooking class. She loves to share her culinary skills, industry insights and creative flair with others who want to learn how to make simple and delicious food or host a lavish event

Megan recognised an opportunity to offer group cooking events with a difference, where cooking team building could bring together people in a safe, fun and non-threatening environment. She focused on company employees and teams, combined with anyone they interacted with or wanted to break down barriers and build relationships with

With life so busy and the daily grind demanding people’s time and immediate attention, Megan understands that providing quick and easy recipes for participants to take home is the key to getting people cooking meals from scratch at home. Megan’s straightforward approach to cooking is delivered with enthusiasm and commitment to making simple and delicious food, ensuring participants leave her events and classes excited about easily recreating the dishes they have prepared for family and friends. She knows how to spice things up and make every experience memorable. Her carefully designed group cooking events, where flavour is paramount, participants bond over food, fun and laughter in a relaxed and friendly setting

Since moving the business to premises where she can also offer conferences, meetings, year-end functions, long table lunches and dinners, birthdays, weddings or any other special even, Megan is completely focused on providing the best possible experiences to her vast client list. Gecko Events is based at Windermere Centre, a versatile restaurant accommodating up to 120 guests, depending on the event.
